1st Day Of School

Today was our first offical day of school. We spend the summer unschooling: playing games, going on outtings, talking, reading, more doing and experiencing than anything else.

Today we actually - some what - followed our schedule, after an extremely late in the day start. We spent a lot of the day reviewing, and with every step I got "oh this is easy! What do they think I am?? An idiot?" from Noah. So he, as usual did wonderful and as usual he had the same issues... handwriting and staying focused. we'll work on it.

Bailee was quite predictable as well, she bombed her spelling pre-test (which I hate giving but her spelling is not good at all so i think we need to try more traditional method and see if that works, at least for a little while), and she bitched up at storm when it was grammar time. I need to find more grammar games for her.

Liam joined us at the table, again as usual, i printed him off a big A and he colored it in with beautiful colors, especially chartruce, and then we cut it out and hung it on the wall. He was very excited!

I think this is going to be a good year, I have a really great feeling about it.

The First

This is my first blog. I am hoping to record our homeschooling year so if all else fails I will have a good portfolio for the kids here.

But as for now I have to set this up real fast, check if Liam is sleeping then take Noah out to practice riding his bike.
